Dr. Tayla Regenbaum joins Southeast Veterinary Neurology as a Neurology Specialty Intern, bringing a strong foundation in clinical medicine, anesthesia, and research. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Florida. During her veterinary studies, she was inducted into Phi Zeta, the national veterinary honor society, in recognition of her academic excellence.
Dr. Regenbaum is currently completing a rotating internship at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital, a high-volume, multi-specialty practice, where she serves as the primary doctor for emergency and general practice cases. Her previous clinical experience spans anesthesia, general practice, and shelter medicine—including participation in a high-volume spay/neuter campaign assisting over 750 cats in partnership with local nonprofits.
A dedicated researcher, Dr. Regenbaum has contributed to multiple ongoing studies in veterinary anesthesia, wildlife medicine, and neurology. Her current manuscripts include a study comparing cardiac output monitoring methods in anesthetized dogs and a retrospective analysis of intraosseous catheter impacts in avian patients. Her early research at the University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute provided a strong foundation in molecular biology and physiology.
Beyond her clinical and academic work, Dr. Regenbaum is passionate about sustainability in veterinary medicine. She founded “Sustainability Advocates & Veterinary Environmentalists” at LSU and served as Historian for the Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative. She also holds certifications in small animal dentistry and USDA accreditation training.
Perfectly suited for a South Florida lifestyle, when not treating pets, Dr. Regenbaum can be found soaking up the sun at the beach or pool, boating, or doing anything outdoors like hiking, golfing, or playing tennis. She also loves to cook, practice yoga, travel the world, and spend time with family. After her study abroad trip to Australia, she became deeply interested in environmental sustainability and an advocate for conservation medicine.
Thanks to the amazing team at Southeast Veterinary Neurology for taking care of my Nano. I can say I will spend a worry free Christmas because I know he is in good hands. Cant wait to have him home and thank you again, Dr. Wong and his team are incredible at what they do!
I brought Toby in at 3:30 am, panicked and scared, but we were met with kindness and calmness. Dr. Little and a technician performed a few tests and gave me an honest review on what I was looking at for his diagnosis and cost of treatment. I left Toby there for about a week for in-house rehab, where my worries were eased by twice a day phone call updates and pictures of Toby’s progress. Toby came in not being able to walk on his hind legs and left the facility walking on his own. My Toby was loved on so much and treated with the utmost care. Thank you so much, Southeast Veterinary Neurology!
